Molecular Structure of silybin A and silybin B and isosilybin A and isosilybin B
The main component of the silymarin complex is silybin, synonymous with silibinin, sometimes incorrectly called silybinin. Besides silybin, which is a mixture of two diastereomers A and B in approximately 1:1 proportion, considerable amounts of other flavonolignans are present in the silymarin complex, namely isosilybin ,dehydrosilybin, silychristin, silydianin, and a few flavonoids. Mainly taxifolin.
